One of our 2023 goals was to launch a second location for Braden's Box so more of the community can have free and easy access to books to support literacy education. On Dec. 8th our 2nd location in Simi Valley opened at the Junkyard Cafe! The Grand Opening had visitors from the North Pole stop by! Visit Now!

Braden's Box is a Little Free Library (LFL) Charter #121303. Completely designed and built from raw materials by Braden's family to honor him after his passing in 2021. Amanda wanted a place for the community to learn and have access to books. Some of Braden's childhood favorites include "The Giving Tree", "Caps for Sale", Junie B. Jones", and "The Chronicles of Narnia".

Braden's Box was dedicated with a celebration with the community on 8 April 2021. This day would have been Braden's Sweet 16th Birthday. Since that date hundreds of community members have visited Braden's Box to share books and grow in knowledge and their love of reading! A year later, Braden's Box celebrated again with a community event.

Braden's Box also features a beautiful sharing rock garden. To spread kindness and art like Braden would do, individuals who visit Braden's Box can "Take a book, Share a book" or "Take a rock, Share a rock" when they stop by. As part of the "Kindness Rocks Movement" that has swept communities across the United States, we are happy to spread literacy and love each and every day.
